Mama buy this okay?
I was just sharing with a friend that I was very amused with Vincent. One day we went to a shopping mall and I was looking at some toys. Vincent picked up a toy and asked me earnestly "Mama, buy this okay?" I was shocked but amused. He hasn't turned 2 then and he knows the meaning of "buy"??
So now he will go to the shop, pick up a toy, Mama, want this, buy okay? I will smile and put back the toy. He will continue to pick up another toy come to me and ask the same question. I will naturally put the toys back. Fortunately, once he stepped out of the store, he never ask for the toys that he wanted me to buy. He has so many toys at home.
He is very close to Mummy once he opens his eyes in the morning. He will call for Mama, wants Mama to carry, want Mama to sit down with him. Most of the time he behaves like a boss. He will order "Mama, sit down", he will tap the space close to him and gesture his mama to come and sit down at the spot that he wants her to sit. It cannot be anywhere else but the spot that he dictates.
Recently my close friend's wife is pregnant, so happy for them. Enjoy your couplehood time now and before you know, your lives will be dictated by a new master of the family.

Happy Birthday Vincent

Happy Birthday Vincent and you are now 2 years old. This is his birthday cake :)
Before I go on to update on his birthday and progress, I am pleased to say that Vincent did not cry during his cable car rides to and fro and he enjoyed himself so much. Before that, I have already pre-warn my colleagues that he might cry and his crying is so loud, the volume can sound like a loudspeaker to the maximum volume. I am always worried that people will be disturbed or annoyed by his crying. I am so happy to see him enjoying himself during the cable rides, the meal time and magic shows. The only time that he screamed was when his daddy tried to make him sit in-between us on his own when we boared the cable car. Daddy doesn't want me to be too tired. Vincent likes to sit on my lap. He screamed so loud that a lot of people heard and they thought that he was scared of the ride but once he was on my lap, he stopped and started to enjoy the journey. During meal time, he like my colleague so much that he kept going to her side :) My colleague is such an expert, she knows how to handle him.
Before Vincent birthday on the 22nd, I have been showing him the birthday cake that we will order for him and sing him birthday song. When his birthday cake arrived, he was so excited and he knows how to sing a birthday song for himself. At 2 years old, he is able to count to 20, knows his ABCs and he is capable of stringing the words together to form sentences and because he knows too many words. He can be pretty demanding, he knows what he wants and will ask for it persistently. We bought him a Ferrari car set and Barney for him. He loves the car set and would play for many hours. Now that he knew the cars and the models of the car, it is very interesting to hear him point out to the car and the brand of it for example, Taxi Mercedes, Car BMW or Car Lexus. He knows Barney from the CDs that he has been watching and when we knew that Marina Square has Barney shows, we decided to bring him there. It was so crowded and when Barney appeared, he was like some superstar. The parents and children were clapping and cheering. Vincent loves to sing songs, dance and do all kinds of actions. He can sing along to ABC songs, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Happy Birthday, London Bridge is Falling Down, Row, Row Your Boat and so on. Those songs that he has not heard of, he will also attempt to sing along when he hears them on TV and radio.
We happened to watch Born Genius, a documentary that showed this little boy who started playing piano when he was two. When Vincent saw the show, he went to bring out his toy piano and stool. He sat on it and imitate the boy playing piano. Hee hee ... we were so amused. I really regret not completing my piano and I stopped playing when I reached Grade 7. I didn't touch the piano for many years now that I have Vincent, I wished I had not stop playing as he loves songs so when I played Twinkle Twinkle Little Star on his toy piano, he is so interested that he would sit with me and attempt to play the piano. I like that kind of feeling but I can only play simple songs now. Hee hee ... I wish I could impress him when he is older that Mummy can play complicated songs.
Till the next post, take good care :)

Update on Vincent now at 23 months
Hello everyone! Time flies, I am going to be terrific two on the 22nd of next month, mum prefers to call "terrific" two instead of "terrible" two. I am more like the latter now, such a headache but the joy and blessings of having me overcome everything according to my family :) Praise God, children are a blessing from God =)
Mum send her apologies to everyone who has been reading my blog and as you can see it has hardly been updated for a very long time. Sorry, mum has been very challenged for the past few months in terms of physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
Since my last entry, I have progressed by leaps and bounds, I can say complete sentences now and infact too many words that I can be pretty demanding. My parents thought it would be fun to teach me the brands of different cars and now I can name the brands of the cars when I see them. I can count very well, sing and dance. I love to dance and will keep asking mum to dance with me. As I grow older, I have become more and more attached to my mum and I want her to be by my side whenever she is around. I am serious, she can't leave my side.
Some of the funny incidents that mum would like to share. I can be very naughty and mischievous and when my papa scolds me, I would say to him "Mama not happy with you." My papa was so amused with me. I have the habit of saying I don't want when I am not happy and to protest and I am very attached to my mum whenever she is around. I prefer to stick to her, when she needs to leave for a while. I would cry and say I don't want mama to protest to her whenever she leaves so when she comes back and asked me what I just said earlier, I would quickly correct myself and said "I want Mama"and gave her a mischievous grin. When I cried I will cry out loud, Mama Ai Ni in Chinese which means Mama loves you. Everyone is amused. When my mum is not around, I will say "No mama today??" I will shake my hand and say "Mei you" in Chinese which means don't have sadly. Whenever I hear Barney's "I love you" song, I will quickly look for my mum and hug her. Hee hee ... I never fail to melt my mother's heart. Mum said that I make it harder for her to leave the house as I cried as if my whole world collapse. My little face will screw up and turn really red. I cried in a way that would break any heart.
I am beginning to like church and prefer it to school. My parents are thrilled when I say to them, go church okay? I will pray and say Amen loudly. I like the toddlers class in church. Mum felt that the teachers there put in a lot of effort to make it interesting and a happy experience for the children. The songs that they sing in the class bring back a lot of memories as those are the ones that mum used to sing when she was little at Sunday school. Every lessons, the teachers will prepare handiwork for all the kids and they will always prepare goodies for the kids to bring back. Last Sunday, each kid even brought back 2 fishes in a nice container. The children are so excited. Thank you Church, Sunday school teachers for your love and hardwork to make the kids happy and most importantly, thank you God for everything! We all have a wonderful time.
Mum is bringing me to her staff day on the 10th November and she is hoping that I won't cry as they will be sitting the glass cable car at Sentosa. I have never sit in a cable car before. Dad and Mum will take lots of pictures so look out for the entry in mid November.
Till then, stay happy and God bless you!

Thank you so much :)
Dear friends,
Thank you so much for your kind concern. Vincent is very touched, thank you Uncle INK, Nanamom, Uncle Wiria and Uncle Jeffrey for your messages.
My head is okay now except for the big bump behind, I am still very active, running and walking up and down the stairs. Hee hee ... my mum is so exhausted.
Right now, my family is very busy with the house and mum will write more whenever she can. We will invite you all to our house when it is ready, there are still a lot of work going on, some parts are still not completed.
Thank you dear friends and God bless you all.

and so on ...
Horray!! Vincent has reached more than a 100 words including the words in this post and earlier post :) Mummy said this is one of her greatest achievement. It is sure not easy but as a mother, she felt that she has the responsibility to teach me well.
Mummy's words:
I taught Vincent how to recognise the different colours and as he is so passionate about cars, he is able to point out which car is red, blue, white, black, yellow and so on ...
When we are at the traffic light, Vincent knows red light means stop and green light means go. He is really cute when red light, he will say stop and green light, he will say go go go ...
Toddlers pick up things very fast, Vincent saw me used the DVD player and wanted to play the DVD so each time when we play his DVDs, I will let him do it. Geeze ... as a result, he wants to do it every time I am at home, it can be many times a day. He doesn't allow us to watch our own programmes as he wanted us to watch his.
Oh Vincent loves songs and dance. His favourite songs are twinkle twinkle little stars, old macdonald and so on. He is able to fill in the blanks for his favourite songs. We will sing bits and pieces and he will fill the words in.
Vincent likes to imitate us so much now. When I was having chicken rice for lunch, he wanted to eat and I was so surprised that he started to scoop up the rice with the spoon and eat. Before that, he has never eaten chicken rice. As usual, Puffy, our dog was jumping up and down wanting to eat our food. Suddenly Vincent while eating the rice told Puffy to "Go Away". I was so surprised, I didn't know Vincent know how to say these two words. He has picked up from us when we asked Puffy to go away when he was always jumping up and down at the table.
Haha ... it is so funny.
Nightmare on 14th July
It all happened when Daddy and I were sitting at the garden. Daddy was reading newspapers and suddenly I decided to stand. The chair gave way and I fell backwards with my head hitting on the ground.
I was crying so badly and immediately I had a big lump behind my head. Dad was so worried that he told Mum that I had to go to the A&E for an X-ray.
On the way to the hospital, I didn’t cry as I thought I was going shopping with Mum and Dad but once I reached the A&E consultation room, I was shocked and started crying. The lady doctor checked my reflexes and comforted me at the same time. I thought it was over but I was send to do X-ray. Mum was so heart-broken, she knew that it would be an ordeal for me but it was necessary to do an X-ray to check whether I had any fracture.
I was yelling, screaming and crying so loudly when doing the X-ray that my cries could be heard clearly outside. My parents prayed that I don’t have a fracture. However, the X-ray was not clear enough to show whether I had a fracture and I was send to do a town’s view of the skull which will be more detailed.
Thank God that all the tests shown that I had no fracture however my parents have to observe me further if I have any symptom of dizziness, vomiting, fainting and basically not behaving like myself when I go home.
We were at the A&E for a few hours and after that my parents were so tired but I refused to sleep when I reached home. I wanted Mummy to let me watch DVDs and she watched with me for a while till my parents decided to bring me for a car ride about 1 am. Fortunately, I fell asleep in the car.
What a day! Oh at the hospital, there were pictures of mickey mouse, dog, tweety bird, bear and so on. I was crying and busy naming the pictures at the same time. They were so worried and amused with me at the same time. I just can't resist naming the things that I know even when I am crying especially my favourite vehicles like car and bus. Now I know how to say the word Doctor.

Choosing a Doctor
Mummy's recent article on "Choosing a Doctor" has been published in Young Parents Baby latest edition. This is the number 1 parenting magazine in Singapore. She is on her way to write the second book, it will take some time to complete as this book will be bigger than the first one. Thanks to you all for your support and compliments :)
God bless you all!
